I moved to Bellingham, Washington, a few years ago with the intention I would be close to the border. Many of my dearest friends are in Canada, where I have lived most of my life, and I wanted to be close to them. After living in Vancouver, BC, I thought I would give up a lot by choosing to live this side of the border.

I had no idea that Bellingham would be such a perfect fit for me. I love my ocean air, the seagulls, small-town atmosphere, and focus on communities. Of course, everyone experiences life differently. I suppose for me, being a nature girl, it’s the natural surroundings and less crowded environment that I find so comforting. The people become the bonus!

In my few short years here, I have met many unique and truly wonderful people. As an artist, I have pondered how I could communicate life in this waterfront community. Certainly through my paintings – but I paint abstract, and how I describe Bellingham and Washington, in general, may not always be evident to others upon a first or even tenth glance.

So I have decided to add something unique to my website. I want to share with you what makes this community so special to me. If you live in the area, I hope you smile, nodding your head and saying – “yeah, I know that place,” or “I felt the same way!”.  If you don’t know Bellingham, Washington, then may I introduce you through my eyes and heart to a place on the earth called home.
