Fall Colored Glass Mosaic Candle Holder Workshop

There is a reason for a fall colored glass mosaic. Fall has a way of turning us inward. The light softens, the days shorten, and it starts to feel like the right season for reflection. There’s an old, simple truth in that: light always finds a way through the dark. And nothing sets a mood of cozy gratitude quite like candlelight glowing through glass.

In this 3-hour workshop, you’ll craft your own 4×4″ mosaic glass candle holder in a rich fall palette — amber, copper, gold, deep crimson, plum, and touches of blue and green for depth and contrast. It’s a beautiful mantlepiece on its own, a natural fit for a Thanksgiving table, and honestly one of the best hostess gifts you can bring this season — handmade, useful, and warm.

How the class works:

• The Palette — I’ve already done the glass cutting for you, so you can go straight into the fun part: choosing your colors and starting your design.
• The Technique — You’ll learn to place, puzzle, and glue translucent glass on an upright surface, so it catches daylight beautifully and glows warm once a candle’s lit.
• The Glow — Your registration includes a premium battery-operated LED candle. No flame, no smoke, no hassle — just warm light, ready to go.

This is a relaxed, welcoming space at the Whatcom Art Center. No previous art experience needed — come as you are, pull up a chair, and let’s make something that shines.
