Disjointed Intuition

Intuition uses imagery, symbols, senses, impressions, and speaks clearly. Sometimes, however, we don’t know how the pieces fit.

Friendly Drop In’s

Have you ever had a friend “pop-in” either in person or by phone for a “let’s catch up – I’ve got secrets to tell!” visit, when it was, truthfully, the last thing you wanted to do? Maybe you were busy, or moody, or bothered, and a visit out of the blue was more of a hassle and a joy? Well, I was done with work, and as so often happens, I thought I was done. The next morning, when I visited the friends (artwork), I thought I had finished. I had drawn the human being where the owl now sits, was not comfortable in my painting, and wanted to head out of town. WHAT? “You can’t do that”, I said. This is done, and you can’t leave me hanging like that. But before I could get the words “like that” out of my head, along came the owl in my mind and said, I want to be there. You see, Owls are my friends, and they represent symbolically our wisdom and intuition, our ability to see beyond what others see. They often show up.

I don’t mind telling you I resisted. I had spent some good time trying to draw this human with their back to the viewer, legs dangling off the –  whatever it is – and face upturned looking at the plant or feathers or – whatever it is. Productive me said, ‘No, you are here now, and you are not heading out of town”. But for me, who wants more than anything to offer what is needed when it’s needed, I couldn’t stick to my guns, and a redo was in motion.

Intuition, a major part of my life, work, and how I help others, is not linear. It’s not about logic. It’s about symbols and impressions that are without a time limit; they simply are now.  I knew somehow that the owl wanted to be there for someone. You’ll know if it’s you Looking you square in the eye while in the midst of things that make no sense, your intuition is waiting to direct you where you need/perhaps want/ to go.
