Art From the Ground Up

Harmony Thiessen Art is about my story of listening to my hunches (intuition), standing up again and again, and finding my place of trust, confidence, and truth. The chance that anyone is reading this is proof that you never know what can happen when you open up to life – again.

I’ve been painting for several years. In fact, I had art shows, a retail studio,  and sold quite a bit of art. But as life would have it, there were some lessons for me to learn.  I abandoned my art practice for a time. I’m out of the groove and in a way, I love that! I am starting from the ground up.

My new life with art is to be totally authentic. No more pretending to portray I am more than I am or less than I could be. I am where I am at this moment. And for the next year, I intend to practice that presence every day with you, my imagined reader. I am making that promise to myself and to my personal purpose. I am going to show up, show and tell, and admit along the way, just how tough that is for me.

With every painting, there is a story. The stories are mostly an insight I had before or during the process that infuses the original work with meaning and spirit.

The beautiful blonde in the picture is my sweetheart girl, Ginger. She graced my life for 13.5 years.  She is my muse – because of what I learned and still learn through her influence. I know that I am loved. I don’t need to meet anyone’s standard to earn it. It’s done.

How wonderful! With that power in my heart, I am free to see the world differently and love back with abandon!
