Pressed Flower Lantern – “Community Means We” Art Class
Let’s Get Together and Light Up the Neighborhood
Bring the beauty of nature indoors making pressed flower lanterns! In this free community workshop, you will learn how to arrange and apply delicate pressed flowers and ferns onto glass to create your own stunning candle lantern.
This special event is part of a community-wide mission to make art accessible to everyone. Sponsored by Harmony Thiessen Art, this class focuses on the joy of the creative process rather than perfection. Whether you think you have a creative bone in your body or you are a seasoned crafter, you will leave with a beautiful finished piece and a refreshed mind.
Open to ages 14+
Beginner/2 Hours
You’ll be guided step-by-step in a relaxed, welcoming environment—no experience necessary.
We provide the crafting supplies – just bring a clean jar! If you happen to have a collection of your own fully dried and pressed flat flowers that you want to use, you are welcome to bring them along. If you don’t – which most people won’t – don’t worry, we got you!
While the class is free, registration is required so we can keep the class to our 30-person limit.
Note: A special thank you to Whatcom Art Center for providing the space at no charge.
