Description
Join me for a new year art workshop in Bellingham, where intuitive art turns your hopes, values, and dreams into a personal visual language.
We’ll begin with a guided reflection on the intentions you’d like to nurture in 2027. Then we’ll look at how artists use line, shape, space, and gesture to express thoughts and feelings without relying on recognizable images.
How do you give a feeling a shape? What does self-confidence look like? How could you create a symbol for courage, belonging, or a new beginning?
Through playful experimentation, you’ll translate abstract ideas into original symbols, letting intuition and unexpected discoveries shape your creative expression.
What We Do
- Discover Your Intentions: Through guided reflection and creative questions, explore what matters most to you and identify the hopes, values, and possibilities you want to carry into 2027.
- Create Your Personal Symbols: Learn how simple artistic elements (lines, shapes, patterns, and gestures) can express complex feelings and ideas. Experiment with a visual language that is meaningful and uniquely yours.
- Explore Intuitive Mark-Making: Using a variety of drawing and expressive art materials, discover how your symbols change and evolve through experimentation, movement, and spontaneous creative decisions.
Beyond the Workshop
The symbols you create can become a personal visual vocabulary to revisit throughout the year. Incorporate them into paintings, collages, handmade cards, journals, or other creative projects. Let them remind you of what matters, or evolve as your year unfolds.
You’ll leave with a set of personal symbols and the confidence to keep exploring them long after class.
