Paper Wild: An Adventure in Print, Leaf & Cloth
A Hands-On Exploration Workshop
Ever looked at a leaf, a stencil, or a stack of scrap paper and wondered what else it could become? This is a workshop for the curious — three hours of experimenting with paper in ways you probably haven’t tried, no experience or “artistic talent” required.
We’re not sticking to one technique here — we’re exploring. You’ll print with stencils and real botanicals, build a sheet of leaf leather out of preserved leaves, and then do something that sounds impossible until you try it: turn a stiff sheet of paper into soft, wearable fabric with nothing but your hands and a little magic. It’s part science experiment, part meditation, and part “wait, paper can be cozy?”
What We Do
Three rounds, three totally different ways of thinking about paper:
- Round 1 — Print Wild: Layer stencils and real leaves and botanicals into paint for bold, one-of-a-kind resist prints. Move fast, stay loose — the paint won’t wait for you.
- Round 2 — Grow a Sheet: Using leaves preserved to stay soft and vivid, you’ll compose your own glowing leaf leather to use later in collage, in a shadow box – or just to show off!
- Round 3 — Make Cloth from Paper: Knead, roll, and crumple a pre-treated sheet until it transforms into something closer to soft leather than paper. Ancient technique, oddly addictive process.
You’ll leave with a piece from each round — no two people’s sets will look alike.
