Since living in Bellingham, I have had the privilege of standing by the side of dear friends who have lost their spouses or other family members or friends. Over the years in the professional positions I have held, I have personally spent the last months with many precious people and their families. Watching others suffer is a powerless feeling. That is where hospice workers shine. Their gifts of compassion, groundedness, support, wisdom, knowledge, and quiet joy – make the unbearable – lighter.
I know many of the people at the Whatcom Hospice Foundation. They are remarkable and I am so blessed to be able to support the work they do – work that most people could not. Thank you so much for joining me!
